Speaking of what’s in my dock, why are all application developers still using blue as their primary icon color? I know I’m not the first person to complain about this, but it’s really out of control. Because it’s so wide-spread, applications with more colorful icons (in this case, Reeder, Chrome and iA Writer) stand much more and look less generic.   4. hyv said: the predominance of developers and web design are boys. Color and logos tend to bleed identity issues. Blue gets picked by guys as favorite color in the 55-70% range depending on what study you are looking at.
